This past weekend Chris and Mike and Jen and I went to my parent's lake house for the weekend. It was originally planned as a fun weekend, but my parents got a terrible storm there a few days prior to our trip, so we ended up doing some work as well. They had 4-inch hail there that broke 2 of their windows, damaged their roof and garage door, got water in the basement, created big ruts in their gravel driveway and put leaves EVERYWHERE. We got all their leaves raked up into piles, and shoveled some of the gravel from their driveway off their sidewalks and yard. What a mess! Chris and dad worked on installing a new garage door, and got a new battery in the waverunner. I was glad we could help a little - there is still so much they have to get done, but at least their grass won't die now that the leaves are all picked up.
We did manage to have some fun over the weekend, as well. Mike, Jen and Chris all took turns on the jet ski and we took a few boat rides. Mike fished a lot - apparently he caught some fish, but threw them all back. :-) The dogs loved playing fetch in the lake and we made a cake for Mike's birthday (on Tuesday). My mom, of course, fed us pretty much nonstop, which was awesome as well. We even played a little ladder golf and washers! Whoo hoo!
