So about 5 years ago Chris and I went to a tree farm about an hour outside of STL and bought 3 trees - 2 sugar maples and a red oak. Well, this fall, one of our sugar maples turned a rusty orange color really quickly and we soon found out it was insect infested and wouldn't make it another year. So this weekend Chris took another trip down to the farm and bought a tulip tree to put in it's place. Here are the before and afters.....and a few "durings". It's so little compared to the others! Kind of sad to have to tear down a tree we planted, but c'est la vie, right? Hooray for tulip trees - let's hope the bugs don't like it!
